Overview

Romy Richards has twenty years of practice experience, initially for six years as an employment litigator at Winston & Strawn and then as principal in-house counsel for a NASDAQ-listed company later acquired by PwC. Romy then spent seven years as a Director in PwC’s Office of the General Counsel, advising leadership on employment, compliance, commercial and governance matters. Romy more recently was general counsel of a luxury hotel and restaurant group in Los Angeles, overseeing new offerings, transactions, employment relations and litigation.

Over the course of her career, Romy has advised start-ups, publicly traded companies and executives on myriad employment matters, including equity and compensation arrangements, restrictive covenants, exit and transition packages, trade secret and confidentiality disputes, and internal investigations.  She also is deeply experienced with the needs of founders and leadership, having counseled companies and boards on issues of executive compensation disputes, executive employment agreements, separations, and internal investigations.

Romy has negotiated or litigated on behalf of numerous VC/PE-backed and public company clients in technology, financial and professional services, media, and life sciences including LVMH, American Airlines, Reddit, University of Chicago, JPMorgan Chase, and HarperCollins Publishers.

Romy graduated cum laude from UCLA School of Law, and she is licensed in California, New York, and Illinois.
