Overview

Michael Mandel joined KM&M in November 2017 to help start the firm’s Immigration Practice Group. He practices exclusively in the area of business and family-based immigration.

For over two decades, Michael has advised businesses and individuals in connection with a variety of immigration-related matters, including working visas, family-based applications, permanent residency (green card) and citizenship applications. He represents artists, athletes, editors, entrepreneurs, designers, investors, students and trainees, as well as law firms and companies in the consumer products, entertainment, fashion, finance, hospitality, information technology, manufacturing, media/communications and publishing industries. With creativity, compassion and determination, Michael helps companies, workers and families navigate the United States’ complex immigration system and achieve their immigration goals.

As a long-time member of the Advocacy Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s New York chapter, Michael passionately supports immigrants in their fight for justice and human rights. He has an active pro bono practice, writes and speaks publicly on a variety of immigration-related topics, and regularly conducts trainings for employers and community-based organizations. Michael also volunteers at legal clinics for immigrants throughout the New York area.

Michael has been selected to the New York Super Lawyers list for Immigration since 2020. He is included in Chambers USA and several other publications.

Michael has a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor degree in Law & Social Policy from Northwestern University School of Law. Prior to law school, Michael worked with City Year, an AmeriCorps national service organization, in Chicago.
